The world is going crazy
Then you have the whole problem in Israel with the freedom flotilla or whatever they are calling themselves. Do they really think that Israel is that stupid that they dont see that this is just an attempt to violate the sovereignty of a country and to import weapons and materials of war. When ever someone tells you 'we come in peace' or 'we mean you no harm' just remember what we told the Indians each time we needed something from them and what happened to them. Oh dont worry we just want to have some farm land. then all of a sudden oh well you guys have to leave we need your land and we will leave you alone. Well it's funny that when Isra
Please people I beg of you start reading primary sources and learn about history for yourself. If you dont understand why things are being done then how will you ever protect yourselves or make educated decisions. Have you even read the constitution or the federalist papers. If not then how can you try to make educated choices, or even say that your kids are educated. If nothing else click on a link for the constitution or federalist papers you'll be amazed at how brilliant our founding fathers were.

Cat VS. Dog
We have a cat named Oreo, now as far as cat’s go she is rather large. Problem is we also have a dog. Now the dog’s name is George and he’s part mastiff and as you know as far as dog’s go he’s well.. he’s freeking huge. Now George keeps wanting to play with Oreo thinking it’s a funny looking small dog. Now Oreo just knows this large thing with lots of teeth is after her and she isn’t sure he heard that ‘cats are friend not food’ so she run’s. Now George thinks the game is on so he chases after her. This worked just great for years ‘cause George is too large to run very far with out a heart attack or slipping in a pile of drool. However one fateful day Oreo decided that she had enough and was going to stand her ground. Now I’m sure most of you have heard the saying “well all the cat need’s to do is give the dog a good swat on the nose with it’s claws.” Well as long as the dog is not part mastiff (or related breed) it is a sound theory. Now mind you the Mastiff type breeds were originally bread to do things like fight lions in the Coliseum or to knock over war horses or even take on Bears. That’s what the extra skin around the neck is for and the almost leather around the neck. George just sneezed and kept going when I tried to install one of those invisible fence things, didn’t even notice. Not to mention the teeth the size of my pinky. Now back to Oreo’s delusions of grandeur. She decided that she would latch on to Georges neck with her front claws, claw is underbelly with her deadly back claws and at the same time bite him on the snout to show him that she is not one to be taken lightly. Again great tactic if you are not trying to take on a dog like George. George just looked at Oreo as if to say WTF??? really those little things?? ok yer joking right. Now the cat is fully committed now so she doubles down buy trying to chew on skin intended to take on, oh I don’t know 2 inch claws. Now this is about the time that she realizes that she is right in front of some very large teeth and that she hasn’t even drawn the slightest bit of blood. So you can just picture her saying to her self, “ Awwwww Shit what do I do now!” and you could see George saying (to quote the philosopher Shrek) “this is the part when you run.” And that’s about when Oreo goes flying across the house and up the stairs. I don’t think we saw her for the better part of a day.
The moral of the story is know your enemy and you will win about half the time, know yourself first and then your enemy and you will win all the time. Or never bring needles when you need a spear and a sword.

You can tell it’s summer
when the fresh smell of manure comes in the house from the local farmer.
it’s raining instead of snowing
you are cold inside and hot outside
People say there is a drought when you go a week without rain
Geese decide your golf ball is one of their eggs
Your kids are home all the time
You’re kept up at night by crickets, frogs, and other critters instead of the wind howling and your toes are freezing
you kick the dog off the bed to keep from over heating.

Can ya tell I’m feeling a little playful today? (incase you are wondering that’s Irish)
Why do the immigrants of Hispanic decent get to keep their language without learning English. My ancestors spoke Irish and Gaelic but they had to learn English. My wife’s family comes from Italy but we don’t get to push 2 for Italian. I’m sick and tired of people telling me that I’m the cause of the worlds problems and that there is no excuse for me being comfortable and happy. What's wrong with success and being able to take care of your family.

Ever wonder about silly stuff
- Why does the press think we still care about things like unfaithful stars and corrupt politicians. If they find the opposite, now that’s news.
- Why the party not in the White house is worried about executive abuse of power and the party in the white house is trying to protect executive power
- is it really possible to watch too much food network
- Is my cat really that dumb and thinks it’s tail is a mouse or is it trying to trick me into thinking it’s dumb as a stump
- If your dog carries a tree limb like a stick do I need a bigger tree or a smaller dog
- Why is it called gun control and not better aim ;-p
- The level of fat in a food is directly proportional to the flavor of that item
- Ever notice that no matter how much you make it’s not enough
- Why does Spain own the African side of the Pillars of Hercules and the UK owns the Spanish side.
- Shouldn’t moving down on a string make it’s pitch lower and moving up on a string make it higher
- Does office equipment have a chip that can detect the level of stress in a person, that way the machine knows the worst possible time to break down and then promptly breaks down.
Got anymore great thoughts?

Do you play Call of duty or other shooter games
I’ve found this wonderful group of guys (and ladies) that play a form of gaming called tactical realism. They are the 7th cav. The cool thing is that they are always looking for new members and they don’t care if you are as bad as I am. We follow military customs and ranks but it’s really easy and part of the fun. We actually are a group of dedicated individuals who try to help each other out. “Gary Owen”

Ramblings of an not so old man
Sometimes I wonder what it is that draws people to reading a blog. Why would anyone care what I have to say about different topics. For that matter why do I spend hours every week reading what other people have to say about the world around them. At least I have the excuse of being a Psychologist and doing research on the modern thought processes in US society. But few people buy that and say ‘your just hopeless and curious.’ Maybe it’s a form of voyeurism, you know able to watch what someone else is doing and experience their life without the risk or without any chances of being caught watching. With this in mind here are today’s rambling random thoughts of nothingness.
If the Pirates manage to go .500 this year or better does that mean it’s the end of the world.
If the Lions manage to go to the playoffs, let alone the super bowl, is that a sign of the end.
If the bills go to the super bowl and actually win, for those who don’t know the four times they have been to the big show they lost each time.
I think I have a better chance of guessing the end of times with these events than some uneducated idiot who managed to start his own radio station with out ever going to seminary, wait he got a boat ton in donations, hummm ok scratch that the followers are the idiots.
Why is the best way for a country to rebuild their economy to go to war against the US and lose. You doubt me? just ask Japan, Germany, CSA, Panama, Grenada, Italy, and lots of others.
Alas one last futile thought; it would be nice if someone would comment on this to start a conversation. However that might make me think that I don’t need my Haldol at night and that wouldn’t be good, but it would make for a great conversation.
Good night .

Ever notice the “experts” are clueless”
How many times have you read these words, ‘unexpected’ in the news lately. If things are so unexpected then why don’t we get new people that know what they are doing so they aren’t surprised as often. I’m a psychologist by trade, if I were to say “wow that guy committed suicide that was unexpected”, or “ the number of patients that I saw was unexpectedly low”, I would be promptly shown the door and asked to not return. Are you really going to tell me that it was unexpected that the price of oil would drop as far as it did when the IEC announced that countries were releasing 60 million barrels of oil from strategic reserves. Now in the short run that is going to lower the price of oil, and since the price of oil was over inflated by speculation, people are going to panic sell oil. Now the problem is that OPEC hates low prices so they are going to try and get oil back over 100 by cutting production. In the mean time we don’t have enough refining capacity to make gas out of the oil we have. BTW did you know that most of our oil comes from Canada and the Gulf of Mexico and not from OPEC. We also can get a lot of oil in this country. Wait.. that’s right… we might kill a fish or a dear or something so we aren’t allowed to drill for the oil that is right here. Anyway why don’t we use natural gas instead? Pa has the 4th largest natural gas deposits in the world not to mention the rest of the country.
Oh the housing market is another great example; why was it unexpected for housing starts to be so low? Lets see high default rates, banks don’t want to loan unless you are a zillionaire, there is a glut of houses on the market that are still over valued. I know… I’m unexpectedly smart enough to figure this out on my own.
The only thing that I’ve seen as being reported as ‘unexpected’ that was truly ‘unexpected’ was the fact that the Pittsburgh Pirates are at .500 and only 3 games behind first. The Steelers loosing the Super Bowl wasn’t even unexpected this year(gasp an honest Steeler fan, I know we are a cult).
So relax America in the knowledge that no matter what happens it’s unexpected and that makes it ok to really screw up the country. The people in charge use the term ‘Sertorius Paribas’ as if it is a way to hide from reality. BTW that is a big fancy term from Economics that means ‘all other things held constant’ great little tool that enables you to only look at two variables and pretend that everything else is going to stay the same no matter what. It’s like saying ‘driving more than 55 miles per hour on the highway causes the price of oil to go up’ well if you hold all other variables constant it’s true.
Well good night from Mudville Pa…err I mean Meadville Pa. relax the Politian's know what they are doing <

Things we don’t know that we wish we did
What direction the stock market is going to go not to mention gold or different options. Wow the market has been a roller coaster lately. Been pouring over charts and it looks like things are going to improve but not by much. Will gold go above 1500 well the charts suggest that shares of GLD should break 160 before the end of the year which would suggest gold spot prices above 1600 by the end of the year. I’ve read reports of 1780 but I wouldn’t hold my breath. My best bet would be to buy some income stocks (LLY, t, ) are my favorites, and some boring ‘ole bonds. Check it out you can get a 3.5% yield at a discount to par. In this insane environment safe is better than losing your shirt.
Why God decides to take some people but not others. I’m not mad at God but it would be nice sometimes to understand the reason. Everything happens for a reason but we are not always privy to the reason. But it would be nice to know why girls are killed by husbands and then the husband kills themselves. Why do terrorist try to kill us when we having nothing to do with what is going on in their world. The vet asks why did Bob die but I lived I was only 2ft away but Bob’s head was vaporized an mine wasn’t.
What our dog is thinking. I know they have a brain and there is some cognitive process going on in there. Just look at their eyes and there is something there. When we brush them or scratch their belly are they thinking “oh thank you thank you” or do they think “ok, if I shake my leg they will giggle and give me a treat, this scratching thing is out of control though”. Do they see cats as toys or food that we keep them from eating.

Were in the World is Gwen Today
Well when your daughter is away on a boat headed towards Europe this is a question you find yourself asking and being asked. I can’t help but hear the theme song for ‘were in the world is Carmen Santiago’ but hey I digress. Well Gwen was worried that she wouldn’t find any friends but her mom and I knew a lot better she always has a boat load of friends no matter were she is. Last time she was on a cruise she had about 30 kids all running around filming a video for the song “I’m on a boat” they were going places they were not allowed and getting away with it. They did a really good job too. If I can find it I’ll post it. My best guess for her location is about a day away from Nassau but hey I’m cheating because I know when she left. Haven’t checked their whether yet but I also haven’t figured out how to post it here yet. well for anyone curious here’s todays post from Gwen’s travel Blog
